During the summer two seminars were held in Madrid for representatives of the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector including; policymakers, producers, researchers and exporters. The question of how fruit and vegetables of a higher quality can be supplied to consumers in the future was debated. Some of the conclusions were that the purchase of fresh produce though the internet has a wider potential, that most consumers were willing to pay more for fruit if they were guaranteed to get better quality produce and there are a lot of opportunities to introduce new innovative fruit and vegetable products to the market. A summary of one of the events is available in Spanish from Agrodigital.com. Both seminars were organised within the ISAFRUIT framework in collaboration with The Foundation ‘Foro Agrario’.
